This study examines the role of classroom observation in strengthening prospective teachers’ pedagogical competence through the School Environment Introduction Program (PLP) at SMAN 4 Mataram. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving the principal, vice principals, teachers, and educational staff. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings indicate that the school demonstrates clear policy direction, continuous instructional innovation, effective communication, and evaluation systems that support educational quality improvement. Classroom observation helps prospective teachers understand authentic teaching practices and enhance pedagogical competence. These results highlight the importance of practice-based observation in improving PLP implementation and overall learning quality.
