Schools as educational institutions must involve the participation of the community and family to support the success of their teaching and learning process, especially in the Independent Curriculum, the government frees schools to carry out learning more innovatively to achieve the desired goals. The success or failure of an educational institution in organizing learning and developing the character of its students is highly dependent on the participation of families, schools, and the surrounding community. Caturharjo, as one of the partner villages owned by UAD, has early childhood education, one of which is ABA Tegallayang 1 Kindergarten as one of the early childhood education units under the Muhammadiyah charity.
The community service activities that have been carried out in order to support the implementation of the independent curriculum are: (1) assistance in strengthening the involvement of the role of the community and family in improving the character of students; (2) assistance in making parenting guidebooks for parents/guardians to support the growth and development of students' character; and (3) assistance in strengthening literacy for teachers, students or parents to support the strengthening of literacy and numeracy.
The activity has been carried out by involving several related parties, namely: Village Head, Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah Bantul, Leadership of Aisyaih Bantul, Principal of ABA Tegallayang Kindergarten along with teachers and staff, Parents and students of ABA Bustanul Atfal Kindergarten. The community service went smoothly with high enthusiasm from parents, teachers, and the community.
